New maple leaf designs for 2026

The Royal Canadian Mint revealed its 2026 commemorative coin lineup this week, featuring new designs celebrating Canadian wildlife and heritage. The collection includes both silver and gold bullion pieces.

Among the highlights is a limited mintage silver maple leaf with enhanced security features. The privy mark design commemorates Canada’s 159th anniversary.

New Security Features

The mint introduced updated anti-counterfeiting measures on the 2026 gold maple leaf. Micro-engraved patterns and radial lines make authentication easier for dealers and collectors.

Pre-orders begin January 15. The mint expects strong demand for the wildlife series, which features the first-ever colorized bullion maple leaf. Collectors can subscribe for automatic shipments of the monthly releases.
