US Mint sets 2026 production targets

The US Mint announced 2026 American Eagle production limits this week. Gold Eagle mintage is set at 500,000 across all sizes, while Silver Eagles will be capped at 15 million.

The numbers reflect ongoing precious metal supply constraints and strong collector demand. Authorized purchasers received allocation notices yesterday.

Market Implications

Dealers expect premiums to remain elevated under the production caps. The 2025 editions sold out quickly, and 2026 demand appears equally strong. Collectors seeking proof versions should order early when sales open.

The Mint also confirmed the 30th anniversary Platinum Eagle will have a special privy mark. Mintage for the platinum series remains at 10,000 across proof and bullion versions.
